BLOWING ROCK ROOFING & GUTTERS
Roof replacement, repairs, metal and specialty roofing, and seamless gutters for Blowing Rock homes, second homes, inns, and businesses — from a locally owned roofer just up the road in Boone.
Blowing Rock is a short drive from our Boone headquarters, and it is one of the two communities we focus on most. We work on full-time residences, second homes and vacation rentals, historic cottages, newer mountain homes, inns, and shops in and around town.
At roughly 3,500 feet along the Blue Ridge, Blowing Rock roofs see heavy snow, ice, fog, and wind off the escarpment. Shaded, wooded lots stay damp longer, which speeds up moss and lichen growth and clogs gutters quickly. We build and maintain roofs with those conditions in mind.
Many Blowing Rock owners are not here full-time. We send photos, keep you updated through every step, and can coordinate access with property managers so the work gets done whether or not you are in town.
Complete tear-off and replacement with architectural shingles, standing seam metal, or synthetic slate and cedar-look products that suit the look of the home.
Learn more →Leak diagnosis and targeted repairs on complex roofs — dormers, valleys, chimneys, skylights, and the flashing details where most leaks start.
Learn more →Standing seam metal for snow shedding, plus synthetic slate and cedar-look shingles for homes where appearance matters as much as performance.
Learn more →Seamless and copper gutter options, guards for heavily wooded lots, and heat cables for shaded, north-facing rooflines.
Learn more →Inspections, storm checks, and repairs for vacation homes and rentals, with photo updates for owners who are out of town.
Learn more →Wind, hail, ice, and fallen-limb damage documented for your insurance claim, with emergency tarping when an active leak needs it.
Learn more →Wooded lots and frequent fog keep roofs damp, encouraging moss and lichen that lift shingles. Ventilation, the right materials, and regular cleaning help.
Heavy snow and ice dams are a winter fact of life here. Proper underlayment, ventilation, and snow-shedding details protect the roof deck and interior.
Dense hardwood cover can fill gutters in a single fall. Guards, correct sizing, and seasonal cleaning keep water away from foundations and fascia.

Shoutout to RoofSmith Roofing for the excellent work this week! Prompt and professional with installers that were exceedingly careful with the property and grounds; I couldn’t have asked for a better company in which to entrust my home!
We used them for metal roofs on both our tiny house and our main home, and they were fantastic. Super fast response time, easy to communicate with, and just great people to work with. The quality of the work speaks for itself—we’re so happy with how everything turned out. Would absolutely use RoofSmith again!
Very professional and great communication. The best option in the Wilkesboro area. Job site was very clean when they were finished. Highly recommend!

Yes. We install standing seam metal, synthetic slate, and cedar-look polymer shingles in addition to architectural shingles, and we can provide samples and specifications if your neighborhood or HOA reviews exterior changes.
We are based in Boone, a short drive from Blowing Rock, and we work in Blowing Rock year-round.
Look for a contractor who is licensed in North Carolina, carries both liability and workers' compensation insurance, gives you a written itemized estimate, and puts the warranty in writing. Ask who will actually do the work, whether they handle the permit, and for local references. Roofsmith Roofing is an NC licensed general contractor, fully insured, and uses its own trained crews on every job.
Yes. We are based in Boone and focus on Boone and Blowing Rock, and we serve all of Watauga, Avery, and Ashe counties — including Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Foscoe, Seven Devils, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Linville, Newland, and West Jefferson.
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the material, how many old layers need to come off, whether any decking needs replacement, and how easy the site is to access. Steep mountain roofs and metal systems cost more up front than a simple shingle roof. We provide a free written, line-item estimate so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Most High Country homes use either architectural shingles or standing seam metal. Shingles cost less up front and come in many colors; standing seam metal sheds snow well, handles wind, and lasts longer. Synthetic slate and cedar-look products are good options where appearance matters. We will walk you through the trade-offs for your specific home and budget.
Yes. After wind, hail, or ice damage we inspect the roof, photograph and itemize the damage, provide a detailed repair estimate, and work directly with your insurance adjuster. If water is coming in, we can tarp the roof to protect the interior while the repair is scheduled.
Every installation comes with our written craftsmanship warranty on labor, and premium shingle and metal systems also carry the manufacturer's material warranty. We explain both in writing before work begins.
